Why do New Churches Win More to Christ?
New churches are 5 - 7 times better at drawing new people into the Body of Christ. Established churches allocate most of their resources to the interest of its members. By necessity, new churches are more evangelistic and more oriented to concerns of non-members.
Reaching the Unchurched
They Best Reach New Residents, New Generations, and New People Groups. Newcomers do not need years of tenure before getting involved in leadership. New churches tend to be more contemporary and are more likely to create a multiethnic church that mirrors the changing community around it.
Stimulate Existing Churches
That which blesses the kingdom of God as a whole also blesses the churches that truly are a part of the kingdom. New churches raise the religious interest of people in general. On average church plants have three times the number of adult conversions as other congregations. Often converts from new churches end up in the established churches. There can be some minor tension and "competition" in the short run but the kingdom profits in the long term.
Saturate Communities for Christ
The reason oil companies put more than one gas station in a city is for saturation - to reach the greatest number possible.
